Please review the following information before applying.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant will be transferring or has recently transferred, to a college or university following study of at least one year at a community college
  2. The applicant has maintained the equivalent of a 3.0 or B grade point average in community college and/or university
  3. The applicant needs financial assistance to be able to attend college or university
  4. The applicant's parents are of Jewish ancestry (defined as either parent of Jewish faith or having converted to the Jewish faith) and the applicant has interest in their Jewish identity, roots and traditions
  5. The applicant will make a reasonable effort to be gainfully employed on a part-time basis consistent with the time requirements of their education and their capabilities

Applicant Requirements

An interview with the trustees is required for all applicants. Please submit all documentation listed below via email.

  1. PERSONAL STATEMENT:
    • ¾-1 pg. about how you grew up, your family situation and relationships
    • ½-1 pg. on your academic history and goals
  2. PROJECTED BUDGET and loan information for the upcoming academic year
  3. Completed Bernard Axelrad Scholarship Fund APPLICATION FORM
  4. TAX RETURN - your parent’s most recent income tax return (yours if you are an independent)
  5. SAR (student aid report) from FAFSA
  6. TRANSCRIPTS from high school or college (unofficial acceptable)
  7. PROOF of INTENT to be enrolled as a full-time student (acceptance letter or class schedule acceptable)
